✨ 9:30 AM – The Rhythm of Story: Africa to America
Beloved Atlanta storyteller and children’s author Mama Koku lights up the stage with music, humor, and unforgettable folktales. Featured by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The High Museum of Art, and the MLK Jr. National Historic Site—and even appearing in The Color Purple—Mama Koku brings history to life with heart and imagination.
✨11:30 AM – Blacktop Playground: Improv for Kids
Get ready for giggles! The award-winning Blacktop Improv team (seen on BET, HBO, and Comedy Central) transforms kids’ suggestions into hilarious, high-energy moments. Every show is a one-of-a-kind adventure where young audience members help shape the fun.
As part of this milestone Roswell Roots year, Art & Soul embodies everything the festival stands for—education, heritage, expression, and togetherness. Come celebrate Black excellence, creativity, and community spirit in a day designed especially for families.
