About this Event
ART & SCIENCE: Trees in NYC! Learn the Basics, Draw and Paint Trees
Join us for a fun and engaging exploration of trees and watercolors—no artistic experience necessary, just bring your curiosity!
Discover the beauty of trees in NYC parks and along sidewalks, and then create your own vibrant watercolor greeting card. We'll begin with light and shadow basics and intro watercolor exercises to get comfortable. Once you're ready, you can paint a card or a matted art work.
Guided by scientific illustrator Monica Schroeder, you'll learn watercolor techniques while celebrating nature and creativity. Don't miss this chance to connect with art and the natural world—come create with us!
Beginners and all levels are welcome. Art supplies will be provided, but please bring your own if you prefer.
After a 10 minute slideshow we'll have the remaining time to focus on art.
Materials provided include:
- Watercolor supplies - you may bring your own.
- Pencils & paper
- Practice watercolor paper.
While the event is primarily aimed at adults, those aged 12 and above are welcome with adult supervision.
