About this Event
A new itinerary dedicated to the history of Vermouth in the Savoy capital is presented, rewriting an almost completely forgotten history. In fact, we do not find ourselves in Piazza Castello, under the Carpano monument, or in the historic venues of the centre. The tour unfolds in the working-class neighbourhood of Barriera di Milano, where thanks to the railway infrastructure numerous Vermouth and liqueur producers settled in time.
The tours will be offered in spring 2025 with a full immersion in the interesting history of the working-class neighbourhood of Barriera di Milano, the fulcrum of industrial development in 19th and 20th century Turin. A ‘treasure hunt’ in search of the almost completely forgotten old Vermouth production sites, together with visits to new cultural spaces and producers. The itinerary will touch on some of the places where liqueurs and Vermouth were made, scattered throughout the district, focusing above all on the Docks Dora, a splendid example of early 20th-century industrial architecture, where no fewer than four Vermouth laboratories were located. The tour will end in the Docks Dora with a tasting of three Vermouths of Turin guided by the passion of Fulvio Piccinino, one of the greatest experts of the ‘drink of Turin’.

The itinerary will last approximately three hours and will be conducted in English. The tasting will be held in the Docks Dora and will include the tasting of 3 high quality Vermouth di Torino.
INFORMATION
Cost of the tour, tasting included, is 35€ per person. Tour will be activated with a minimum number of participants. Should the number not be reached, the entire amount will be refunded.

WHO WE ARE
Fulvio Piccinino: a researcher in merchandising and mixing and Vermouth in particular, he is involved in the promotion of the famous drink invented in Turin. He holds courses at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, the Campary Academy and numerous other training centres. He has so far published seven books on Vermouth, Gin and aperitifs. Daniela Re: an architect, she combines her energy-saving design work with guided tours of Turin's neighbourhoods, in search of the industrial past between the 19th and 20th centuries.
