About this Event
Gather around a fire to make buckthorn charcoal from buckthorn branches harvested from the banks of the Mississippi River. You can sip on hot beverages while learning about buckthorn and the river from ecologist Alex Roth.
Artist Kimberly Boustead will show participants how to draw with the buckthorn charcoal and then give some options for drawing projects. Leave the workshop with your own buckthorn charcoal, drawings, and new knowledge to share with others.
This workshop is part of the Art and Science on the River MWMO workshop series that seeks to help participants gain broader perspectives on different challenges to the river through art-making and information sharing.
This workshop is collaborative effort between the Mississippi Watershed Management Organizaiton and Friends of the Mississippi River
