“Art and Floral Inspirations at Battersea: September 27th”
On Saturday, September 27th, there will be a special art and floral event at Historic Battersea, 1289 Upper Appomattox Street, Petersburg, VA. https://www.batterseafound.org/
We are inviting plein air artists to set up on the grounds of Battersea and paint what they see – perhaps the 18th century Palladian Villa, perhaps the 19th century Orangerie, perhaps the 19th century Kitchen, perhaps the 250+ year old Ginkgo tree!
There is NO CHARGE to the artists and NO CHARGE to the public who will be touring the grounds from 10 AM to 5 PM. We have invited the public to bring a picnic lunch and folding chairs to enjoy the beautiful grounds.
Inside the Villa there will be demonstrations of floral arranging using paintings in the Battersea collection as inspiration, plus there will be fall floral arrangements throughout the Villa.
We ask that artists supply their own material and easels. You may set up as early as 9 AM, and you may offer the art you create that day for sale once you have completed your painting(s). We hope that you will spend part of the afternoon with us, displaying your artwork. We ask that you not bring any other paintings for sale on that day.
