Step into a day of purpose and camaraderie with "Around the Sound," an inspiring event dedicated to raising funds for Courtlands School in memory of the resilient Mike Ward, currently battling cancer. Join us on May 5th, starting at the historic Mayflower Steps at 0930hrs, as we embark on a memorable 19-mile journey, concluding at Mountbatten Pier around 1600hrs.
The event, organised by the dedicated Dave Huddy, comprises three invigorating stages.
We'll kick off with a cycle from Mayflower Steps to Cawsands. Then, the adventure takes to the water with a kayaking stage from Cawsands to Wembury Beach. Finally, we'll anchor our journey with a walk from Wembury to Mountbatten Pier.
Our courageous participants, including Dave Huddy, Chris Harris, Drew Tombs, Graham and Gary Beaumont, are ready to conquer the course, fuelled by a shared purpose. We extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors, Harris Hounds/Dog Owners of Plymouth, Focus Training Group, and Koala Karlous, for their invaluable support.
The ultimate goal? To raise £5000 and bring about positive change for Courtlands School. This amount will contribute to the purchase of much-needed gym equipment, enhancing the learning environment for the students.
