About this Event
We are excited to announce that London Makers Market will be running a number of creative workshops on Tuesday evenings from October-December in Battersea. As the days get shorter, there's nothing more satisfying than getting creative with friends and family in a cosy environment. There will also be a mini market at each of these events, showcasing a collection of small business treats, ideal for Christmas gifts and celebrations.
The Workshop:
This in-person Candle Making Workshop will last for 1.15 hours and will be hosted by Emily Lynam, Founder of Yougi.
You will start by learning about fragrance families and what top, heart, and base notes are. We'll share tips on creating a natural fragrance. You will learn the different benefits and healing therapies of the different essential oils.
You will then use a mix of essential oils to blend into your own soy wax candle. Beginning the process by heating the wax, then adding the essential oil blend, setting up the wick, and finally pouring your own 170ml candle to take home.
All raw materials are cruelty-free, ethically sourced, eco-friendly, and 100% natural.
The Venue:
This session will take place at the gorgeous Duchess Belle pub in Battersea, in their private room upstairs. The pub has a friendly cosy atmosphere and dates back to 1883. Situated in the heart of Battersea, close to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, and nearby stations - Battersea Power Station and Vauxhall, it is easy to get to.
You will be able to buy food and drink at the pub, and they often have food deals to tempt you. We would advise getting to the venue earlier than the class start time so that you can order refreshments.
Parking is free from 6.30pm if you can find a space in nearby streets behind the pub (Thessaly Road/Stewart's Road/Ascalon Street). Please note that you can only access these streets from Wandsworth Road, not Battersea Park Road.

London Makers Market:
As a platform driven by creativity and community, we are teaming up with lots of workshop hosts to help support them in the lead up to Christmas and bring our network something a little different.
We have been hosting online and physical events (at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich) since LMM was born in February 2020. These have helped support and connect over 500 small businesses with interested customers and other creatives.

The class will start promptly at 7pm, please aim to arrive 10 minutes early. We will try to seat groups together as much as possible. If you are part of a group booking separately, please contact us to let us know your group details.
Please note that drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. We do not accept refunds for these sessions unless the event is cancelled.
