9:15-10:30 - Karen Averit, MEd: "Comprehension: It doesn't just happen!"
Once thought of as the natural result of decoding plus oral language, comprehension is now viewed as a much more complex process involving knowledge, experience, thinking, and teaching. The learner will be exposed to comprehension strategies and tools to help the learner with dyslexia.
10:45-11:45 - Karen Averit, MEd: "Spelling: The Rules Every Good Teacher Should Know" The Rules Every Good Teacher Should Know - The learner will be introduced to basic concepts for spelling rules and teaching derivative rules.

12:45- 2:15 - Dr Tammy Stephens: “Conducting a Targeted Comprehensive Dyslexia Assessment Using C-SEP"
When conducting a comprehensive assessment it is imperative that evaluators utilize multiple sources of data. This session will focus on the importance of integrating multiple sources of data (policy requirements and best practice). The presenter will introduce C-SEP and demonstrate its use when conducting a comprehensive assessment of dyslexia.
