The Arkansas Poetry Out Loud finals kicks off at 10:45 a.m. March 1 at Ron Robinson Theatre in Little Rock. High school students from across the state will compete to earn the state championship poetry recitation competition. The winner earns the opportunity to go to Washington, D.C., to compete for $20,000 in the national competition.
This state championship event is free and open to the public.
The Poetry Out Loud program is made possible through partnering with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation to encourage students to learn great poetry and develop real-world skills. Poetry Out Loud is a free, high school program that encourages the nation’s youth to learn about poetry through memorization and recitation. Learn more at arkansasarts.org.
