About this Event
The Arkansas Country Blues and Stringband Festival is a 3-day festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Arkansas Country Blues and String Band Festival will be held October 25th - October 27th in downtown Springdale, from The Apollo on Emma. The festival seeks to bridge the traditions of Country Blues, which is predominantly from an African American heritage tradition and String Band music, which is predominantly from a European American heritage tradition for local and visiting audiences in an effort to encourage cultural understanding as well as provide a top-notch artistic experience for all who attend. Because we are working in Springdale this year, we wish to add Corridos, the Mexican ballad tradition, into the mix by highlighting ballads from across these three cultures.
The First Annual Festival was held in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in November 2023. Over 1,000 people attended over the course of three days, splitting the performances, workshops, and presentations over the downtown area at BC’s Juke Joint, The Fayetteville Public Library, and the Lower Ramble.
