Multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona is an internationally acclaimed ambassador of global music and culture. A Grammy-winner who has collaborated with luminaries like Bobby McFerrin, Wynton Marsalis, and Pat Metheny, Bona showcases unparalleled versatility across various musical genres. His deep knowledge of African musical traditions permeates much of his work, while his interest in European musical history enables him to seamlessly blend diverse elements together—in his words, to “combine everything with everything.”
Bona’s first concert at ARK FOR ART is in duet with Jesús Pupo (keyboards) who honors the "piano Cubano" style and its vibrant Afro-Cuban rhythmic and melodic heritage. Through their fusion of jazz, Afro-Cuban, and African styles, you will enjoy a pre-Holiday night that will embody the transatlantic musical connections rooted in the African continent, Cuba and Miami.
