About this Event
No-Gi Freestyle Judo is merely removing the jacket (uwagi or kimono) while participating in a Freestyle Judo ruled contest. Other than removing the jacket, the Freestyle Judo rules are utilized. Freestyle Judo is NOT another style of Martial Art from Judo. Freestyle Judo is Judo using a alternative rule-set for Judo using a progressive point system and allowing more of the Kodokan Judo syllubus to be utilized in a developmental environment. Arizona Freestyle Judo Club is proud to host this event. This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership. AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins, except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connection.
BE PREPARED: Adult and Non-Athlete memberships are no longer instant and cannot be applied for at the event. Please allow up to 10 days for memberships to be processed. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their membership.

We will be accepting some on-site registerations as needed for best brackets, but it is recomended that that everyone pre-register so as not to cause delay in competion. Doors will open at noon. Weigh-ins and competitor inspection begins promotly at 1:00 PM.
This scrimmage is a cross club practice to promote friendship and improve Judo skills. All officials are volunteers and in training. Participants may be beginners, who have never competed before. Please be patient and models of good sportsmanship.
