Our season begins with newly selected Cliburn Gold Medalist, Aristo Sham. Praised by The New York Times for his “clarity, elegance and abundant technique,” and by The Washington Post as a young artist with “boundless potential,” pianist Aristo Sham has performed on five continents and was featured in Channel 4’s 2009 documentary The World’s Greatest Musical Prodigies.Sham gained early international acclaim with First Prizes at the Ettlingen (2006) and Gina Bachauer (2008) competitions. In 2023, he won the Grand Prix at the Monte-Carlo Music Masters, and has received top prizes at numerous international competitions including Young Concert Artists, Casagrande, Clara Haskil, and Verbier’s Vendome Prize.
