About this Event
MAC Award Nominee for Best Male Vocalist, BroadwayWorld Award Winner, and recipient of The Jewish Week’s Prestigious 36 Under 36 Award, Ari Axelrod returns to his cabaret home for an encore performance of his critically acclaimed show, Ari’s Arias. According to the dictionary, an aria is an accompanied, elaborate melody sung by a single voice. To Ari, an aria is any moment in life where words alone fail to express what we’re feeling, and so to fully express it, we add music to those moments to elevate them and sing. From Bernstein and Sondheim to Bareilles and Bucchino, join Ari as he takes you on a ride through some of his favorite arias.
Stephen Mosher of BroadwayWorld Cabaret says: “this writer places value on authenticity, audacity, and artistry, and (to me) that's what Ari’s Arias is. Authenticity. Audacity. Artistry.”
The Bistro Awards says, “His skill and openhearted approach invited a unique level of trust with the audience.”
Theater Pizzaz says, “If you have not seen Ari Axelrod live, what are you waiting for? His solo show Ari’s Arias was more than just a show; it was an experience, and an emotional journey into Ari’s life, loves, and music. It was such a magical evening; I wanted to see it again.”
Ari is joined by Broadway veteran music director Larry Yurman (Grey Gardens, War Paint). The group will be recording a live album of this concert!
