Who:
People who have never attended a Tango Class
People who have had a few tango classes
People who tried tango some time ago and want to restart
Tango Dancers who want to revisit the basics
Why:
Argentine Tango (social) is not just dancing but an entry ticket to a worldwide community. Imagine, going to a foreign country where you cannot talk directly with a person but you can dance with them. Imagine, moving countries and having a community you can already step into. Imagine the connections you can make, the people you can meet and the dances you can improvise
What will happen:
Over 2 days (6 hours), we will work on the basics.
The Walk and the Embrace are the base of all things Tango.
We start with this and then work up to providing a few well known moves which will get you around a dance floor. It will also set you up for the improvers weekly lessons that will start in September (mondays)
When you transfer the deposit, I will give you 3 Tango songs to listen to before the Workshop.
Who are we :
I am Dani (she/her). I teach, DJ and organise and have been running classes for beginners in Lisbon since 2024. I have taught in both the UK and Lisbon and DJ globally.
Logistics and costs :
Espaço Arroios in Lisbon (Portugal)
Sat 30 August : 10am till 2pm with a break
Sun 31 August : 10am till 2pm with a break
€40 per person for the 2 days

What to wear:
Comfortable, light clothes.
Shoes - Please DO NOT bring rubber soled shoes. You will need a shoe that is comfortable and has a slight slip to it (converse tend to work fine, but trainers tend to have too much grip). Otherwise bring a pair of old socks which you don't mind destroying (to go over your shoe)
I will not assign you a role (leader or follower) according to your gender. You can choose which role you wish to spend most of your time learning.
Please let me know ahead of time which role you wish to work in (leader/follower) or if you wish to learn both from the beginning as I will try to balance the roles.
