Mira Barakat is back to teach Argentine tango at La Bruja! Mira's classes focus on simple, elegant figures for social dancing. Mira is equally amazing at leading and following, and provides guidance on technique for both roles. She is an expert at communicating clearly to a large group. The beginner class is open to all levels. The intermediate class is geared towards people who have been dancing for at least three months (12 tango classes).
These classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers,” and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.
No partner necessary; the teacher encourages people to switch partners throughout the class.
We encourage everyone to sign up for all three classes, but drop-ins are also welcome.
Wednesdays, November 12th, 19th, and 26th
6:45 pm: check-in
7:00-8:00 pm: beginning tango series
8:00-8:30 pm: practica
8:30-9:30 pm: intermediate tango series
9:30-10:00 pm: practica
The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions! Beginners may stay and watch the intermediate class. Intermediates may arrive at 8:00 to practice together with the beginners.
$60 general admission (three classes, beg. or int.)
$25 general admission (single class, beg. or int.)
$15 student with ID (single class, beg. or int.)
We accept cash and venmo at the door.

Drinks are for sale at Morgan’s Bar and Lounge, across the hall from the ballroom. All ages are welcome in the dance classes.
