About this Event
The Byron Society hosts distinguished Byron Scholar Bernard Beatty for a lecture on Byron and Scott, which asks 'Are Walter Scott and Lord Byron Scotland’s greatest writers?' and explores how in their life-time Scott and Byron had unprecedented international fame and enormously influenced later European literature and thought. In Britain their fame dipped in the twentieth century but now they are once again being taken seriously. This talk suggests why.
