About this Event
Our Archives on Show events are a chance for us to show you the sheer range of material we hold at The London Archvies. In these sessions we will present a display of material for you to browse at your own pace, where staff will be on hand to answer questions. Whether you are new to archives and curious to see what we hold, or you are an experienced researcher that wants to learn more these relaxed events offer a chance for you to explore our collections by theme and format.
Archives on Show: London’s brewery archives
The London Archives hold a remarkable collection of records relating to brewing in the capital, including the archives of household names such as Whitbread, Trumans, Courage and Barclay Perkins.
In these sessions, we will present a display of material from the archives, including records of beer production, marketing, pubs and staff to highlight how such material can be used to explore places, people and the broader historical context. Staff will be on hand to discuss the records on display. You can book to join one of two sessions on the day, at 11am and 12 noon.
