About this Event
Join us in-person at the Utah State Archives to learn the basics of how to arrange, describe, and care for your historic records collections. Participants will be given a facsimile records collection and get hands-on learning experience doing archival work. Registration is free and includes a boxed lunch.
Attendance will be limited to 15 participants in order to facilitate active participation.
Please note: attendees will be required to watch 1.5 hours of pre-recorded content prior to the live workshops covering fundamental archival concepts such as appraisal and collection scope. Links to these materials will be provided by the State Archives upon registration.
This workshop is geared toward the staff of museums, libraries, and other institutions for whom archival collections may be an important but secondary function of the institution. This class is for Utah-based institutions only.
