A Look Inside the Archives
The Chilliwack Museum & Archives has been preserving the community’s history for over 100 years. Housed in the Wells Centennial Museum at Evergreen Hall since 1971, over time, the Archives continued to grow, and in 2011, the City of Chilliwack expanded the facility, adding 4,000 square feet of storage and workspaces.
Today, the Archives is home to:
657 linear meters of textual, photographic, cartographic, audio, and visual records.
4.63 terabits of born-digital and digitized materials.
20,620 digitized photographs and thousands of archival records, books, and objects.
11,134 unique objects spanning 831 linear meters of storage.
Each donation, record, and artifact is a piece of Chilliwack’s story, preserved and made accessible thanks to the dedication of staff, volunteers, and community donors.
