A new year, a new Archives After Hours! Our first event of the year will feature a closer look at our local World War I veterans. Local historian Gene Schultz will tell the story of the Handley Plaques: commemorative markers laid near Handley High School in 1924 to honor veterans of World War I from the Winchester-Frederick County Area. Learn about how these plaques were rediscovered and the stories of the individuals they commemorate. Archives After Hours is designed to provide a close-up look at our collections and the work we do every day in the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives. Following the presentation, attendees are welcome to participate in a short tour of the Archives.
