CLASS DESCRIPTION: This Youth Camp is best for ages 10-14
Dates 7/22-7/26 Times: 9:00am-12:00pm
Cost $260 plus $30 lab fee.
Camp is led by local Architect Kyna Raney! Kids will learn about famous architects and their approaches, styles, and life stories. Fun and engaging time for students to use real architectural tools to learn techniques of drawing and model building. They will be introduced to vocabulary and concepts including scale, form, function, fenestration, and sustainability. They will create their own designs, drawings and models as they draw inspiration from the “architect of the day” (or two) for each day of the camp. Opportunity to learn about the country and culture of each architect through storytelling, maps, and photographs. Architects have included FrankLloyd Wright, Julia Morgan, Louis Kahn, Paul R. Williams, Francis Kéré, Frank Gehry, Norma Sklarek,Antoni Gaudi, Mies Van der Rohe, Zaha Hadid, and Moshe Safdie.
