Kanchipuram is not only famous for its richness in cultural architectures and temple town, but it is also rich in production of Silk Sarees. Having Silk Saree weaving as one of its major occupation, Kanchipuram is a traditional centre of silk weaving and handloom industries for producing Kanchipuram Sarees.
To encounter the architectural temples and weaving activities in Kanchipuram, Madras Photo Bloggers have come up with a two day photo-trip this time at Kanchipuram. Not many get this opportunity to witness the cultural temples and weavers community by capturing the photos and stories of them.
Madras Photo Bloggers Team will assist the participants to photograph and document stories of the temples and weavers in the weaving community.The photo-trip will be led by Travel Photographer and Founder of Madras Photo Bloggers, Mr. Srivatsan Sankaran and other mentors.

Day 1: Saturday, 30th January 2021 (Morning)
Kailasanathar and Ekambaranathar Temples
The Photo-trip will begin with a tutorial on how to capture the structures and architects of the ancient temples by Mr. Srivatsan. Therefore, the participants will be learning on how to capture contrasts, textures, structures and patterns to create striking & powerful images of the ancient historical structures.
Duration – 3 hrs
Day 1: Saturday, 30th January 2021 (Evening)
Weavers Community
A photo document about the weavers in the Weaving community, who weave the beautiful silk sarees in different varieties. The team will also help to capture candid images of culture, people and their lifestyle of the weaving community.
Duration – 2hrs
Day 2: Sunday, 31st January 2021 (Morning)
On the spot photo contest and Review session
An on the spot photo contest of a specific theme relating to the photo trip will be announced. The pictures will be selected by Mr. Srivatsan and mentors and the selected pictures will win prizes and be featured in Madras Photo Bloggers social media handles. Also, the pictures taken during the photo trip will be reviewed by the mentors.
