Walking downtown, people typically look up--at the buildings, the trees and the bustling people. But have you ever thought about the history under your feet? Join us Feb. 12 as our guest Damita Engel and Signe Snortland of Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. share with us the archaeology of what lies below Bismarck. They'll have you guessing which kid's toy was found in an abandoned storm drain! They'll also venture south, to share their investigations at University of Mary looking for evidence of the Battle of Apple Creek and discuss work at the Larson village site just north of our city with a display of photographs and reconstructed pottery from the site. This program is free and open to the public.
