About this Event
Join us at Arbury Court Library during February half-term for a very special half day of drop-in activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Arbury Court Library, which first opened its doors in January 1966.
The day will include:
- Storytime (10.30-11am) and children's crafts (11.30am-2pm) with the library team.
- Memories of Arbury with our Local Studies Librarian - come along and see some maps and pictures from the Cambridgeshire Collection of what the local area and library used to look like, and share your memories of Arbury over the years (10am-2pm)
- Music from the Busketeer Choir (11.30am-12noon)
- The City Council’s North Neighbourhood Team - whether you're curious about getting involved in your community or just want to learn about what's going on with City Council projects in the area we’d love to meet you (10am-2pm)
- Craft activities with Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination - join the Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination team for some fun creative activities for all ages and explore the common grounds that hold our communities together here in North Cambridge (10am-2pm)
- The Cambridgeshire County Council Communities Service, who will be there to listen to people’s stories and capturing soundbites for the day. Come and say hi and share what you love about the Arbury Library and your community (10am-2pm)
- Roman Arbury with the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Find out about the history of Arbury and local archeology, particularly from the Roman period (10am-12noon)
Light refreshments will be available, kindly provided by the Friends of Arbury Court Library.
Free and all welcome! Book your free place or just come along on the day. Parents/carers to stay with their children at all time.
