Arabic Calligraphy practical workshop and lecture – focus on Nastaliq CalligraphyIn this very special one-off event, Razwan will lecture on the fascinating Arabic Calligraphy of South Asia, from its beginnings in the Arab world to its movement to Persia and and then East. He will also lead a traditional Arabic calligraphy session, using hand mixed ink and hand cut bamboo pens. From beginners to advanced, all levels are welcome, from teen to adult.
Razwan is a QEST Scholar (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust – Royal Warrant Holders Association), and a widely exhibited Artist whose work has been displayed in many galleries and museums, including Leeds City Art Gallery, Leeds City Museum, Cartwright Hall, Bradford Industrial Museum, Craven Museum & Gallery and others. He regularly delivers Arabic Calligraphy workshops at festivals. His commissions include work for and Land Art for the inaugural Tour de France of Britain. His work has appeared in various platforms including Channel 4, BBC Radio 4, The Times, ITV, and USA Today.
