Info: This talk will introduce pesticide applications in different environments and the importance of studying pesticide disasters. It reviews 6 disasters in aquatic, natural areas and right-of-way locations. It will highlight comment themes and lessons learned, strategies for prevention and common factors in pesticide disasters.

Info: This presentation talks about snake identification, diversity and natural habitats, that are present in aquatic, natural areas and right-of-way locations. This will also address safety tips and procedures should you find yourself in their vicinity. It will also dispel common myths and discuss their importance in our environment.

Info: Non-native plants have the potential to disrupt native plants, animals, and natural communities. This presentation will focus on expert-based assessment tools to evaluate invasion risk of non-native plant species in Florida and throughout the Southeast US. Through our website we provide the latest descriptions, categorizations, and recommended uses of non-native plants in Florida.

Info: This presentation will explore the impact of invasive plants and animals from trade on aquatic environments, natural areas, and right-of-way zones. It will highlight the human dimensions of invasion science, focusing on how stakeholder communication, engagement, and behavior impact the pesticide industry.

Info: Often the best way to effectively manage invasive weeds is through integrated pest management. Biological control is often overlooked as a useful tool in integrated management. Biological control can be used successfully along with other tools like herbicides, controlled burns, mowing, grazing, or plant competition. However, these other methods need to be conducted in a way that protects the biological control agents. In this presentation, we will explore current biological control options available in the state and learn how to best integrate these agents into ongoing control programs across various habitats.

Info: Bonnie address pollinators, birds and mammal impacts and risks from pesticide exposure. Topics of discussion include the benefits of plant buffers of ponds, and littoral zone plantings for wildlife protection.
