About this Event

Earn 4 CEUs in this upcoming, hands-on training that tackles unwanted vegetation in natural, right of way, and aquatic areas.

Being able to identify unwanted weeds in natural areas, as well as in and around waterbodies, is key to proper management. Increase your confidence, skillset, and knowledge in this 4-hour workshop.

  • Michael D'Imperio, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County, Water Resources
  • Susan Haddock, UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County, Commercial Horticulture and IPM
  • Michelle Atkinson, UF/IFAS Extension Manatee County, Environmental Horticulture

This CEU-eligible workshop will cover the following:

Agenda

  • Check-in - 9:00 - 9:15 am
  • Aquatic and natural areas W**d biology and identification - 9:15 - 10:30 am
  • Break - 10:30 - 10:40 am
  • Site assessments and ecological considerations - 10:40 - 11:40 am
  • Application math - 11:40 - 12:20 am
  • Herbicide technology and management techniques - 12:20 am - 1:00 pm


Approved for the following CEUs: 2 Core (482/487) and 2 from the following categories: NATURAL AREAS W**d MGMT, RIGHT-OF-WAY PEST CONTROL, AQUATIC PEST CONTROL, FOREST PEST CONTROL, DEMONSTRATION AND RESEARCH, ORNAMENTAL AND TURF PEST CONTROL, PRIVATE APPLICATOR AG PEST CONTROL, 4 MAXIMUM

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Registration/check-in: 9:00 - 9:15 a.m. Breakfast snacks and coffee are provided.

Cost: $40.00 per person (excluding additional Eventbrite fees), free for verified Sarasota, Manatee, and Hillsborough County employees

Advance registration is required. You may buy your tickets online or register to pay at the door.
