Come wade in the water and learn the mysteries of the salt marsh habitat!
About this Event

The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Marine Science Center Manager Chad Macfie and wade in the waters of Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. We’ll use dip nets and seine nets to study the aquatic life living amongst the mangroves in these salt marsh areas.

** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.

ACTIVITY: Wading in the water and using dip nets and seine nets to catch aquatic animals

RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.

TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.

AGES: All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes that can get wet, bathing suits or clothing that can get wet

WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen

FACILITIES: There will be no bathroom facilities on site.
