APTN Indigenous Day Live 2022

I am writing to you on behalf of APTN with an exciting event notice we hope you will share with your community at NOW Magazine. The event will be streamed live and recorded so individuals not living in Winnipeg will be able to watch in full on TV and Online.

On Saturday June 18 APTN is hosting Indigenous Day Live (IDL) a free event open to the public at the Forks (1 Forks Market Road) in Winnipeg for the first in-person celebration since 2019. For those who cannot attend in person the show will broadcast on all APTN channels APTN’s YouTube channel and participating Indigenous radio stations on the day of the event and again on all APTN channels and APTN lumi June 21 for National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Traditionally a music concert this year APTN is shaking it

up. Through cultural and musical performances the event

showcases Indigenous artists and features multidisciplinary collaborations in

English French and a variety of Indigenous languages.

This year will exclusively feature artists and performers who identify as a woman or member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The 2022 theme “Celebrating Our Lands” underscores the historic synchronous relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the land with a special emphasis on the connection between Indigenous women the 2SLGBTQ+ community and the nation we call home.
