With musical guest Ruby Blu!Extraordinary Power of Life’s Fundamental Bond. Let’s talk about Friendships and how important they are in our lives. In fact, research suggests that friendships can help us find purpose and meaning, stay healthy, and live longer. The intimacy, support, equality, and emotional bonds we have in our friendships are unique. Currently 60% of Americans report feeling lonely. 47% report their relationships with others aren’t meaningful. In recent years, loneliness has been recognized as a growing public health concern, with studies revealing alarming statistics about its prevalence and impact.
Some of these statistics are: Young adults between the ages of 18 and 22 are the loneliest age group. Social isolation is as harmful to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Loneliness can increase the risk of premature death by up to 50%. One out of five Americans say they have nobody to talk to about important matters. LGBTQ+ individuals may be at higher risk for loneliness due to discrimination and stigma they may face from society or even family members.
Solutions: You are invited to come to the Hope Interfaith Center where ALL are welcome. ALL faiths, creeds, color, and sexual orientation. You are invited to come join in “Friend Raising” on Sunday, April 13th at 10:00 a.m.
