Singer songwriter, April N. Smith, grew up in North East Texas. Singing at local gatherings and churches during her teenage years came naturally to April, allowing her to sharpen her Patsy Cline inspired vocal abilities while gaining her a dedicated fan base.
In 2007, a family attorney scheduled a meeting with a music professional, and the dream for Where I Am was born. The album showcased her love for gospel and country music in a collection featuring two original songs as well as treasured favorites. Produced by Jeff Taylor and recorded at IBC Studios in Dallas, the recording was very well received and exposed Smith to the music industry. Soon performing at special events and churches throughout North Texas, by 2009 Smith was leading a cast of performers at a popular Galveston resort’s nightly Christmas musical.
In 2018, after a career pause to raise her family, Smith joined a local band singing backup and guest vocals on the local music circuit. Her love of the stage was instantly re-energized, and she began blazing a path into the Texas Country Music scene. Now performing solo acoustic sets as well as singing with her band, Smith has also been pouring her soul into a new album, Enough, slated for February 2021 release.
