General meeting at 5:30 pm with Members Only tuber auction to follow. Bidding starts at 5$. The tuber auction will not be on Facebook live/open for online bidding.
Some notes on the auction and how it leads to our three public sales for the year/volunteering at the public sales.
Members bring in any extra tubers they want to donate to the 3 public sales, and any extra tubers specifically they want to put out for auction to the rest of the club. Bidding starts at $5 we go thru 50+ tubers. The donated tubers and anything that didn’t sell at auction get split between the three public sales in April/May. The three public sales also have tubers from our two gardens, over 1700 tubers this year. The tuber varieties are split as equal as they can be so no sale is better than the other. Generally members sign up to volunteer at the sales at an earlier meeting. The day of the sale they get there 45min-1 hour early to set up. Just bring yourself to volunteer-and a smartphone to find pictures of the tubers is helpful. We can't bring all 1700 tubers to the members auction physically. You don't have to know much, or anything really, about dahlias to volunteer At the sales. :)
Donating tubers: If you have tubers you'd like to donate we'd gladly take them. Bring them each in their own plastic baggie. The plastic bags get marked with their name, classification, etc. via a printable tag. We will have extra tags at the meeting.
