We’re pleased to announce that we’re hosting fusion practicas on the first and third Wednesdays each month, starting in April 2025. This is a space for dancers to practice and experiment with new concepts, moves, or sticking points. Working consistently with other dancers to build skills is one of the best ways to immediately improve your dancing!
🕖 7 - 8 pm: guided practice
🕗 8 - 9 pm: open dancing
📅 First and Third Wednesdays
💵 Sliding Scale: $0 - $20
🛠️ How practicas work:
At the start of the session, we’ll check in with dancers. If folks have specific topics they want to work on, we’ll have people share and find others to work with, either in couples or larger groups. Otherwise, organizers will offer practice prompts. There’s no need to bring a topic, but you do need to bring a spirit of experimentation and collaboration.
🤝 How we practice together:
Stay curious. Everyone’s learning, and that’s the fun part. Share ideas, ask questions, and be open to new perspectives.
Engage as equals. Invite others into the conversation and treat every partner as an equal – this isn’t a proving ground, but a collaborative space. Ask before offering feedback.
Uplift each other. Celebrate progress and discoveries. Our focus is on shared growth and supporting one another as we learn together.
Our practicas are consent-driven and gender-free. For details, please check our code of conduct (conduct.portlandfusion.dance). You will be asked to review it when you check in.
📌 Things to know:
Please bring water and clean soft-soled shoes. No street shoes are allowed in the studio.
Everyone is invited to dance with everyone, and we encourage everyone to try leading, following, and switching.
