Forest bathing and forest therapy (or shinrin-yoku) broadly means taking in, in all of one's senses, the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest. This 2.5 hour guided experience will support you in slowing down and noticing the ways in which the natural world reflects a complex ecosystem that we has humans are part of. We will explore the concept of 'emergence' in spring and how the natural world mirrors new beginnings and rebirth. We will walk approximately 2 miles with short guided wanders off trail throughout the experience. We will end with a forest tea ceremony. We will meet at the yellow trailhead on the far side of the park; an email with specific directions will be sent a week before to registered participants. NOTE: Restrooms are available in the main building at the Visitor's Center but NOT at the trailhead so plan accordingly.
