To participate:
-$5 cash entry per family as a token of gratitude for the time and energy put into coordinating the swaps.
-Don’t have to donate to take (pregnant families encouraged!). Take what you need 💕
What happens❓
-Please see this experience as “op shopping but cheaper!” To bulk out your kids wardrobe, reduce fast fashion cycles and help the family budget. That’s the aim of this event. 👏
-All clothes go out on tables sorted by size (usually Mostly 0000-4), in the past size 5-10 has also been available based on donations on the day.
Also sections for shoes, baby bedding, books, maternity and nursing clothing, bibs, nappies, feeding items.
-Donations most welcome on the day, please SORT BY SIZE and label bags or boxes so it is easy to manage. Also ensure good+ quality if we don’t have time to check it on the day (things with stains/holes labelled “play” in seperate bag).
Donation can be from 12pm if you are wanting to donate but not participating in the swap at 1:30.
-If you are ONLY after bonds zippies or brand name items you will likely be disappointed (whilst some is generously donated, it is not the majority).
-You are welcome to take for your child’s size now and the next size up. If you have 4 kids in your immediate family, we understand that makes everything more costly so you pay the $5 only once for this event.
-If you are taking on behalf of a DIFFERENT family and your own, please be fair and contribute another $5 on their behalf.
-remaining items are given to children’s charities supporting local and overseas children, stored for future swaps or (if bulky) donated to local op shops.
Your patience and gratitude is appreciated as we all work to reduce fast fashion cycles and the cost of raising kids 🙏
