There are 10 route options. You can sign up as a driver or a spotter. The spotters will keep an eye out for Callery Pear, while the driver focuses on safe driving. If a Callery Pear is spotted, the driver should find a safe place to park so the tree(s) can be mapped and photographed. Photos are needed so that invasive plant professionals can confirm a correct identification.
On April 9, we will have a short workshop on using EDDMapS. You are welcome to immediately do your route after the workshop or do your route another time while the pear trees are in bloom. If you are comfortable using EDDMapS, feel free to drive your route any time the pear trees are in bloom. We will notify all registrants when pear trees start to bloom.
