About this Event
The Eno River Association is hosting a bioblitz to document the incredible biodiversity of one of our preserves! Volunteers will help identify and record plants, fungi, and wildlife using iNaturalist, contributing valuable data to support conservation efforts. Whether you're an experienced naturalist or simply love exploring the outdoors, your participation will help us better understand and protect this special ecosystem.
We will be surveying from 10am to 1pm at the Rocky Branch Conservation Area, but we appreciate any time you can give.
Meeting location: 4708 Seterra Bend, Durham, NC 27712. You may park along the roadside, but be sure not to block any driveways.
Before you arrive: Complete our stewardship workday waiver. If you frequently attend ERA workdays, you may want to complete a 1-year waiver rather than a single-workday waiver.
What to bring: Wear weather-appropriate clothes and closed-toed shoes you're willing to get dirty. Bring a water bottle, a snack, and if you have work gloves, bug spray, or sunscreen you like, feel free to bring them! A smartphone with a camera is necessary for recording observations.
Get ready for the Bioblitz: We’ll be using iNaturalist to document observations, so please download the app beforehand and create an account. We recommend spending a few minutes exploring the app and practicing uploading an observation to get familiar with the process before the event.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to Tana McLean at [email protected] or (919) 521-6963.
