On the auspicious 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War’s start at Concord’s North Bridge, Orchard House – the “Home of Little Women” as well as a “Witness House” to the British Line of March of 19 April 1775! – is proud and pleased to join with the Town of Concord in celebrating our shared heritage.Orchard House will host a lawn party like no other with costumed interpreters, games, music, conversation, “Revolutionary selfies,” a meet-and-greet with Sagamore Strong Bear Medicine -- direct descendant of Nashobah Praying Indians sheltered on our property in 1675 -- The Concord Minute Men muskets, music, and more, and even a visit by Louisa May Alcott herself, reminiscing about the 1875 Revolutionary War Centennial festivities!
All activities are FREE and OPEN to ALL; donations are greatly appreciated to support Orchard House’s educational and historic preservation efforts. Event held rain or shine both on our historic landscape and in The Concord School of Philosophy.
Important note: Due to the large numbers of visitors anticipated on April 19th, guided tours of Orchard House will not be offered. Interior space pictorial displays will be available, along with Guides who are happy to answer questions and partake in discussions outdoors.
