About this Event

YOU WILL NOT GET A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE/ENDORSEMENT BY TAKING THIS COURSE UNLESS YOU ALREADY TOOK THE MSF BRC1 SAFETY COURSE OR THE MSF BRC2 LW SAFETY COURSE AND DID NOT PASS THE MSF SKILL TEST AT THE END OF THE COURSE WITHIN THE LAST 180 DAYS .

Additional Practice RiderCourse (APRC) - This group lesson motorcycle safety training course is designed for those who;

1) Already have a motorcycle license/endorsement and want some additional riding practice in an enclosed parking lot.

2) Already took the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW within the last 180 days, did not pass the MSF Skill Test at the end of the course and want some additional practice riding before retaking the MSF Skill Test.

The course can be taken on one of our training motorcycles or on your own 2-wheel motorcycle.

As stated on the APRC page of our website, there are two modules/parts to this course.

Module 1 - you take a 5-hour (average time) Pre-Course Assignment called the MSF eP1x11 eCourse, on your own, which covers some of the physical and non-physical riding skills needed to ride a motorcycle safely. The link to the MSF eP1x11 eCourse will be in the confirmation email/tickets you will receive from Eventbrite, our registration platform, as soon as you register for this course. More details about the MSF eP1x11eCourse are on the APRC page of our website. https://theridingacademyofnj.org/extra-practice-aprc

Module 2 - you attend approximately five hours of practice riding. More details about the riding session are on the APRC page of our website.

There will be a 1 1/2 hour remote/virtual/online Orientation Session on the Tuesday date posted for this class at 6:00 PM. This session will properly prepare you for Module 2, the riding session. It will cover the riding gear required for the riding exercises, questions about the MSF eP1x11 eCourse, the Liability Waivers that need to be signed before the first riding session, the riding exercises, the Skill Test if you are taking the course for a retest, and answer any questions you may have. The link to the Orientation Session will be sent in an email three days before the session. A reminder email will be sent one day before the session. THE ORIENTATION SESSION IS ONLINE DONE AT YOUR LOCATION (YOUR HOME, YOUR OFFICE, ETC.). This email and additional informative emails are sent as automated group emails by Eventbrite. This session is optional if you took the BRC1, the BRC2 LW or the APRC with The Riding Academy of NJ and already attended it.

If you are not getting the automated group emails, it could be for the following reasons;

a) One of your email addresses was incorrect on the Order Form.

b) Your Spam or Security settings are either sending the group automated emails to your Spam or Junk folder or deleting them.

c) You may have unsubscribed from a marketing email from Eventbrite.

Here are a few suggestions since we can't forward the group emails;

1) Add "[email protected]" to your email Contacts list.

2) Check your "Filters and Blocked Addresses".

3) Send us a different email address and we will add it to the Eventbrite system so you receive the remaining group emails.

Time Schedule

Do Module 1, the MSF eP1x11 eCourse, as soon as you can, on your own, at your own pace, preferably 30 days before Module 2. IF YOU ALREADY TOOK THE eP1x11 eCOURSE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO IT AGAIN UNLESS YOU WANT A REFRESHER. JUST REPRINT YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE. You will need the eP1x11 eCourse Completion Certificate ID# when filling out the Liability Waivers. (Details on how to reprint your Completion Certificate are on the APRC page of our website).

Module 2, the 1/2-day practice riding session is scheduled from 1:00 pm to approximately 6:00 pm on the date posted for this course. The practice riding session is held at MSU's Lot 60 located at 35 Clove Rd, Little Falls, NJ.

FAQs

Will I get my motorcycle license/endorsement from taking this course?

NO, unless you already took the BRC1 safety course or the BRC2 LW safety course within the last 180 days and did not pass the MSF Skill Test at the end of the course, and are taking this course for a few more hours of practice riding before re-taking the MSF Skill Test.

What if I already took the MSF eP1x11 eCourse (Module 1)?

You do not need to take it again unless you want a refresher. However, you will need the Completion Certificate ID# when filling out the Liability Waivers.

What do I need for the riding session (Module 2)?

As stated on the APRC page on our website, you need the following;

1) Your valid photo ID Driver License if taking the course for a retest.

2) A motorcycle license/endorsement unless you already took the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW within the last 180 days and are re-taking the MSF Skill Test.

3 ) If you are using your own 2-wheel motorcycle for the riding session, bring the registration card and insurance card.

4) Your eP1x11 eCourse Completion certificate or a picture of it.

5) If you are re-taking the MSF Skill Test, we need the paperwork we gave you that indicates when you took the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW and what your score was on the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW Knowledge Test. If you took the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW with another motorcycle school in NJ within the last 180 days and want to re-take the Skill Test after the APRC, we need paperwork from that motorcycle school that indicates when you took the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW and what your score was on the BRC1 or the BRC2 LW Knowledge Test. YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN THE BRC1 COURSE OR THE BRC2 LW COURSE IF YOU WANT TO RE-TAKE THE MSF SKILL TEST.

6) Over-the-ankle footwear (leather preferred) to protect your ankle from injury.

7) Durable long pants. (No light material pants, leggings, sweatpants & no holes in the pants. The sturdier the material, the more protection).

8) A long sleeve garment (shirt, sweat shirt, jacket).

9) Full-fingered gloves.

10) Eye-protection (glasses, sunglasses, goggles, face-shield).

11) A DOT (Department of Transportation) motorcycle helmet. (We have some full-face motorcycle helmets available to rent if you do not have a motorcycle helmet).

You will not be allowed to ride the practice riding exercises unless you have all of the items listed above. (If you do not have all of the items listed above for the practice riding exercises, you will be dismissed from the class with a partial refund).

What if it rains on the day of the practice riding session?

The class is held rain or shine. If rain is in the forecast, bring rain gear (rain jacket, rain pants, waterproof shoes, waterproof gloves, or wear latex gloves under your gloves) to keep you dry and prevent hypothermia.

Do you offer any discount for this course?

Yes. There is a 10% discount for those who successfully completed the Basic RiderCourse (BRC1) with The Riding Academy of NJ (RANJ). Use the Promo code to get the discount. The Promo code is the first letter on your RANJ MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC1) completion card.

What is your Refund policy?

Here's our Refund Policy, which is posted on the Refunds page of our website under "Policies" and which you will acknowledge that you read when registering for the course. It will also be in the confirmation email.

1. Cancelling Your Class

If you decide to cancel your APRC class registration/ticket purchase, you must notify us by email ([email protected]), for verification purposes, at least 10 days before the start of your scheduled class to receive a full refund of the course price. (The Start Date for the APRC is the Tuesday before the riding session begins).

If you notify us by email less than 10 days before the start of your scheduled APRC, we will refund you 50% of the course price. No exceptions.

Rain - classes are conducted rain or shine. If rain is in the forecast for the class you registered for, bring rain gear (rain jacket, rain pants, waterproof shoes, waterproof gloves or latex gloves to wear under your gloves) to stay dry. If there is lightning and/or thunder during a practice riding exercise, we stop the exercise and have you go to your car or other safe area until the lightning and/or thunder passes.

We reserve the right to change the time schedule of a class at any time, or cancel a class at any time due to severe weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances, low enrollment, limited visibility and last-minute events scheduled by MSU. If we have to cancel a class, we will refund the entire course price. If we have to cancel a segment of the class, we will give you a partial refund.

2. Switching/Rescheduling Your Class

No switching/rescheduling is allowed for the APRC. No exceptions. You can either keep your class seat or cancel your class registration/ticket purchase.

3) Dismissed from Your Class

If we dismiss you from the practice riding session of the APRC for being late (you can not join the session once the session starts for liability reasons), or for not having all the proper riding gear as outlined on the APRC page of our website, or for missing a riding exercise after you completed the first riding exercise of the riding day session, for whatever reason, or for risky or unreasonable behavior, or for any other reason, we will refund you 50% of the course price. No exceptions. If you are dismissed from a class, you can not ride the remaining exercises if you missed a prior riding exercise. If you are dismissed from a class and want to attend another class, you will have to register online for another class and pay the full course price again.
4. Drop Out/Do Not Show Up For Your Class

If you drop out of the riding session or do not show for the riding session of the APRC, for whatever reason, we will refund you 50% of the course price as long as you request the refund in writing before the End Date and End Time of your scheduled class. No exceptions. If you want to attend another class, you will have to register online for another class and pay the full course price again.

5) Counseled Out of Your Class*

If you are counseled out of the practice riding exercises, we will refund you 50% of the course price**. If you want to attend another class, you will have to register online for another class and pay the full course price again.

All refund/cancellation/switching/rescheduling requests must be made in writing via email to [email protected] for verification purposes. Include the Class #. All refunds will be issued by Eventbrite, our registration platform. Refunds can only be made to your original payment method. We cannot apply any refund to future classes.

*Counseled Out of Your Class

We reserve the right to counsel out (remove) a student from a class if they are not able to ride a bicycle, are struggling while riding a practice riding exercise, are not able to keep up with the riding pace of the class, did not meet the objective of a riding exercise within the time frame allotted for the exercise, are a safety hazard to themselves or others in the class, or display signs or symptoms of not feeling well (including, but not limited to, anxious, nervous, fatigue, nausea, lightheaded, dizzy, weak, faint, shivering, numbness in the fingers or toes, hypothermia, hyperthermia, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, possible concussion). If you are counseled out of class for any of these reasons, we will give you a partial refund as stated above in #5. If you want to attend another class, you can register online for another class and pay the full course price again.

**All refunds will be issued after signing The Riding Academy of NJ's (RANJ) Counsel Out Form.

Strict Refund Policy

Our Refund Policy is very strict because we do not want to lose money on a class. Since we offer more benefits and features than all the other motorcycle safety training schools in NJ, we run on a very small profit margin and cannot afford to lose money. If you miss a class, can not make a class, or arrive late to attend a class, we can not just put you in another class for free. That's like buying two seats (one seat in each class) for the price of one seat.

If you have tickets to a sports game or concert and can not make the event for whatever reason, you do not get to go to another game or concert for free.

We lose money on last minute cancellation/switching/rescheduling requests because we lose the ability to sell that seat to someone else on such short notice, and we lose money on the class.

We are very strict on having the proper riding gear for the riding sessions (the proper riding gear is posted on each course page) and arriving on time for the riding sessions because you can not miss any safety information once a riding session starts for liability reasons. These are MSF, State & insurance regulations for the motorcycle courses.

We are the only motorcycle school in NJ that offers refunds for certain exceptions. Check the Refund Policy for the other motorcycle schools in NJ.
