About this Event
We are launching a brand-new apprenticeship route into healthcare at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Throughout the apprenticeship you will get the opportunity to work at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust whilst studying at Wiltshire College.
Throughout the apprenticeship you will develop your knowledge and skills to become a competent Healthcare Assistant (HCA) and contribute to the ongoing continuity of compassionate care and excellent teamwork. Your clinical hours will follow a shift pattern including day and weekend shifts. In some cases, there may be a requirement to rotate onto night shifts, to cover the needs of the clinical area and / or the Trust. As well as working clinically, you will also be given allocated study time to complete the academic element of the apprenticeship.
Whilst studying at Wiltshire College you will gain a Higher Development Award, the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 Apprenticeship as well as your functional skills in Maths and English at Level 2 if required. This will be achieved through on the job training, guidance and supervision and attendance at relevant training sessions provided by the employing Trust, the Training Provider (Wiltshire College) and assessment in the workplace. Apprentices will be employed by Salisbury Hospital NHS Trust and based in one of the Trust’s medical or surgical clinical areas.
You do not need to have previous experience in a formal caring role. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.
