In this workshop, we will go through the different stages of creating your own animal applique decorative cushion cover with an envelope back.
This is a practical workshop, where we will go over several different techniques:
• Creating your design and pattern template. N.B (a photograph of your chosen animal or a link to an image on the internet, will need to be emailed a week in advance to [email protected])
• Measuring and cutting your fabric
• Learning how to use bondaweb to secure the different elements of your design
• Creating raw edge or satin stitch appliques
• Creating hems on your back panels
• We will then go through the steps to sew your cushion together!
Please note: A metre of a suitable woven fabric will need to be purchased from Homend Haberdashery or brought with you; for example Drill, Calico, Velvet, Denim. A range of cottons and tweeds will be provided for appliques, along with interfacing and bondaweb.
To attend this workshop, you will need to be able to use a sewing machine to sew in a straight or zig-zag stitch.
Sewing machines provided.
