Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)

Learn to provide suicide first aid. ASIST is a best practice in suicide prevention where participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Studies have proven that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings for those at risk. This is a two-day, 16 hour interactive workshop. This class has been approved by the Board of Social Work to provide 12 CEU’s upon completion (fee applies.) This class meets the continuing education requirement for teachers.

This is a two-day training, December 9th and 10th. 9am to 5:50 pm both days. The cost is $65 per person.

Coffee is included on both days. Parking is available. There will be a lunch break. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch or visit one of the nearby restaurants for a quick option.

This training is sponsored by the Minnesota Suicide Prevention Trainer Network, Minnesota Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, NAMI Minnesota, and the Minnesota Safety Council.

If you are unable to attend, a substitute individual is welcome to attend in your place, but NAMI Minnesota must be notified in writing (e-mail is acceptable) with the name and contact information of the person who will be attending. NAMI Minnesota reserves the right to cancel any event, conference, or class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If there is a cancellation, participants will be notified by telephone and/or email as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.
