Orchards are a key part of our landscape heritage, providing food for people and homes for wildlife. We have cultivated fruits of many kinds since at least Roman times and hopefully far into the future as well. We are proud of our still developing Community Orchard at Thames Chase Forest Centre, with ten varieties of apple and one of pear…so far! Come and visit our Community Orchard on Sunday 19th October for Apple Day, where our experienced walk leader will guide you around our Orchard, talking about the various fruiting trees, how we manage the orchard and why we are growing a wildflower meadow here as well! Two walks are available on Sunday 19th October, 11am till 12pm and 1pm till 2pm.
A £4 donation is requested
Suitable for ages 10 years and over, please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
