Orange Audubon Society is working on creating a nature center and habitat restoration at the Apopka Birding Park, which is the old nursery site to the right of the entrance to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. The property is owned by the City of Apopka and leased by Orange Audubon. We plan our fifth workday on Saturday, October 25, 9am to 12pm. We have just secured a grant to do a wildflower garden from the Florida Wildflower Foundation and will be preparing the site.
Please join us! Bring good gloves, and if you have them, shovels, and hand pruners.
We will also have some bench or bird box construction projects going on. If interested, bring tools.
