Get ready to celebrate Year 4 of the Avenue of the Arts Festival (AOTA FEST) with a vibrant Opening Day celebration centered around fiber art, community, and cultural connection.
Join us in person for the official City of Fort Lauderdale Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, marking the beginning of a week-long, city-wide public art festival happening throughout Fort Lauderdale.

Featured Art Installations
This event highlights two temporary fiber art installations, transforming both the exterior and interior of the South Side Cultural Arts Center:
🧶 Cielo Tejido (Outdoor Art Installation) ()
World renowned fiber artist Cielo Tejido will wrap the iconic banyan tree outside SSCAC in a large-scale yarn installation. This temporary public artwork will serve as a colorful landmark, inviting visitors into the Cultural Arts Center and celebrating fiber art as a form of public placemaking.
🧵 Karelle Levy – “Interknit” (Indoor Art Exhibition) ()
Inside the center, experience “Interknit,” a traveling fiber exhibition by artist Karelle Levy. This immersive yarn-based exhibition explores connection, process, and material storytelling.
The "Interknit" exhibition will be on view for 90 days, with multiple educational workshops and classes hosted at SSCAC throughout its run.
