Albany’s RSL sub-branch with support from the City of Albany will deliver the Dawn Service this year, honouring our past and present servicemen and women.
Join us on Friday, 25 April to remember and commemorate their enduring legacy.
This year’s commemorations will be completely open to the public with no ticketing requirements to attend the main services.

How do I get to the Dawn Service at Mt Clarence?
The only access to Mt Clarence is via free shuttle buses from the Albany Entertainment Centre and Middleton Beach Bus Port between 3.15am - 5.00am. Please DO NOT use the walking trails.
What time should I arrive? Please arrive at the Desert Mounted Corps no later than 5.15am for a 5.30am start. Please note that the service will require full silence as it commences at 5.30am.
Do I need a ticket to attend the service?
No.
Will there be road closures?
Apex Drive leading up to the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial will be closed to vehicles and foot traffic to allow the free shuttlebus service to run with minimal disruption.
What amenities will be available at Mt Clarence?
Amenities at the Dawn Service are extremely limited. There will be no refreshments available at this site and limited toilets.
Can I lay a wreath during the Dawn Service?
Once the official wreath laying has occurred, the public will be given an opportunity to come to the front to lay a wreath.
Where does the shuttlebus depart from?
There will be shuttlebuses running from two locations: Albany Entertainment Centre and the Middleton Beach Bus Port.
Does it cost anything to use the shuttlebus service?
The shuttlebus service is free, but donations are welcomed to assist the RSL Albany Sub-Branch in providing this service. $5 is recommended.
Can I pre-book, reserve or buy a ticket for the shuttlebus service or Dawn Service?
No, the shuttlebus service is first in best dressed.
How often will the buses run?
Shuttlebuses will run at approximately 10 to 15-minute intervals or as required from 3.15am to 5.00am.
