ANTISEZONA 24 BLOCK 5 named NOMAD DANCE ADVOCACY: CHOREOGRAPHIC CONVENTION - BODIES IN FREE FALL, which takes place from 19 to 23 November in various locations in Zagreb, is a partnership between ANTISEZONA and the regional network Nomad Dance Academy, and a part of the EU project Life Long Burning 3 – Futures Lost and Found. This international event gathers numerous local, regional and international artists and experts in the field of dance, choreography and performance, provides rich artistic and discursive program as well as a platform for discussion on the development of dance art in the Croatian region.
It covers the premier of short film CLOSE ENOCUNTERS OF DANCE KIND that features over 50 Croatian dancers, opening of the exhibition DANCING, RESISTING, (UN)WORKING – ASPECTS OF DANCE AS A CULTURAL, POLITICAL, AND ART WORK IN YUGOSLAVIA AND AFTER, advocacy event TRANSFORMATIVE POLICIES FOR DANCE that will focus on the initiative for structural and institutional development of professional dance in Croatia and region, as well as a series of performances and participatory artistic events.

*ANTISEZONA is a project which brings an all-year-round program of presentation and contextualization of contemporary dance and related performative practices to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb and TALA PLE(j)S. It is led by dance artists Silvia Marchig, Sonja Pregrad, Iva Nerina Sibila and museologist Tea Kantoci. ANTISEZONA is created through the development of our artistic (authorial, performative, educational) and curatorial practices / interests / intensities / needs and through the productive synergy of the capacities carried by our artistic organizations Divert, Kik Melone and Object of Dance, finding a partner in the central national institution of contemporary art in Croatia – the Museum of Contemporary Art. ANTISEZONA (19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) is recognized by the public as a new international epicenter of performing arts in Zagreb.

*Created in 2005, Nomad Dance Academy is a Balkan contemporary dance network which is active in the field of dance education, artistic creation, production, as well as promotion, advocacy and cultural policies for dance. Through its cultural activism, it seeks to strengthen various creative and artistic forces in the local and regional contemporary dance contexts of the post-Yugoslav region, in order to contribute to better conditions for contemporary dance development and better working conditions for artists. The partners of Nomad Dance Academy understand contemporary dance and choreography as an artistic and social practice, which deals with working conditions, production, construction, performing, mapping and thinking various presences, absences and representations of (human) bodies, as well as their traces, manifestations and potentialities in the past, present and future.
