The Athenaeum is pleased to host a return visit from local antiques expert and star of the small screen, Paul Martin for another free valuation day. On Monday 1st September, Paul and the team from Henry Aldridge and Sons will be at the Athenaeum from 10:00-3:00pm to value and give advice on your antiques and collectables, with an option to put them up for auction if you wish. Paul said “it’s one of my favourite venues in Wiltshire, steeped in theatrical history which brings the best out of you, every item valued has a starring role under the spotlight, it’s our job to find those hidden gems, all treasures from the past, and bring their history alive! It’s a brilliant day out, fun and informative, and hopefully we can guide you through the auction process and send you home with the promise small fortune…? I have happy memories of our last visit when we uncovered an oil painting of full length female portrait by William Etty RA, a classical nude study, (with an auction guide line of £1,200), pottery by William Moorcroft, and plenty of jewellery to make the day sparkle, with some very happy owners, see you all soon for the next performance!”
