During the decade of the 1920s, Asheville transformed from a small mountain town to a true metropolis. Much of this transformation was led by innovative architecture and the popularity of the automobile. As part of the opening weekend of the exhibition Lasting Legacies which highlights Asheville’s architecture and decorative arts during the early decades of the 20th century, you’re invited to see a collection of automobiles that would have roamed the city’s streets during this time. There will be opportunities to learn about the history of these cars and to take some great pictures with you in the driver’s seat!
